Patients would typically fly out on Wednesday, have the surgery on Thursday, and fly home after their post operative appointment on Monday. (Air travel may less expensive flying home on a Monday.)

The first step in getting the process started is to call your insurance company to verify your benefits including your deductible and co-payment. Also it is very important to make sure your policy provides out-of-state coverage. At this point, call our office so we can give you an estimate of your out-of-pocket expenses. We ask that you select two to three surgery dates that would work for you as well as your travel companion. There is a $150.00 charge to reschedule or cancel your surgery.
You will come into our office the day before your surgery to have your consultation, consent, and be given pre-operative and post- operative instructions and prescriptions.
When your surgery is scheduled, Medical clearance, EKG (if over 40), Chest X-ray, and lab work from your doctor is needed no more than 10 days before you fly out. EKG’s are good for 6 months and lab work is good for 10 days.
Please make sure all your pre-operative information (Medical Clearance, EKG, Chest X-ray, lab work) is faxed to the office before you leave. Our office fax is (949) 488-0868. In addition, call us to confirm we have received all of these items. Your surgery cannot proceed without these items. Should you travel alone, it is imperative you have someone accompany you the day of surgery as well as the first 24 hours post operatively.
We only perform surgery on one foot at a time. You are able to schedule your other foot 6 weeks later. For your convenience arrangements can be made for your second foot surgery when scheduling your first.
For any additional questions, you can email us at jackie@feetfixer.com or call us at (949) 493-8020.
